Steuben County Divorce Records

Steuben County divorce records are legal documentation of the dissolution of marriage handled by the County Supreme Court. These records are confidential and inaccessible to the public. According to New York's Domestic Relations Law §235, divorce records are sealed for 100 years after their creation, during which they are only accessible by case parties and their respective attorneys or by court order.

Eligible parties may request Steuben County divorce records from the County Clerk's office in person during regular business hours. They would need to provide a case number or the names of involved parties to facilitate their request. They must also present valid photo ID or other documentation establishing their eligibility to access the divorce record being requested.
