Steuben County Arrest Records
According to New York's Freedom of Information Law (FOIL), codified in New York Public Officers Law, Article 6, Sections 84 to 90, the general public has the right to access and request copies of Steuben County arrest records. That said, certain portions of, or entire arrest records, may be restricted from public access under specific state and federal laws. These include but are not limited to:
- Mugshots per New York Public Officers Law §89 2(b) viii.
- Sealed arrest records pursuant to N.Y. Criminal Procedure §160.59.
- Juvenile arrest records per N.Y. Family Court Act §381.3.
The primary custodians of Steuben County arrest records are local law enforcement agencies, such as the County Sheriff's Office and municipal police departments. Generally, these records may contain the following information:

- Arrest date and location
- Arresting agency's information
- Charges
- Bail details
